Cafe By The Way
Cafe By The Way
Some of how we got here.
Cafe By The Way started the way most good things do — on a whim and a prayer. We found this old British-era building tucked away on a Mussoorie lane, with crumbling walls that had more stories than we could count. Instead of tearing them down, we decided to let them talk. Every crack, every uneven brick stays. That is our charm.
The walls here are covered in art — some painted by friends who passed through, some by strangers who felt like friends by the time they left. There are polaroids pinned up from a hundred different afternoons, board games stacked in the corner waiting for a rainy day, and a shelf of books that nobody owns but everyone borrows.
Every crack, every uneven brick stays. That is our charm.
We are serious about two things: good coffee and good company. Our coffee is the best you will find in these hills — we will fight you on that. Every cup is made with care, whether it is a classic cappuccino on a foggy morning or an iced hazelnut latte on one of those rare sunny afternoons.
Then there are the dogs. They wander in, curl up under a table, and become part of the furniture. Guests feed them scraps, give them names, and come back asking about them. We do not have a pet policy — we have an open-door policy, and the dogs know it.
14 years of serving coffee. 200+ polaroids on the walls. 3 dogs who think they own the place.
Cafe By The Way is not trying to be fancy. We are a little rough around the edges, a little loud when the music is right, and a lot warm when the weather is not. If you have been here, you know. If you have not — come find us. We are right by the way.
